Four Decades at the Same Bench
A small Boston shop that grew by refusing to rush a garment.
Built on Fit, Not Volume
What started as a humble and small business offering tailoring services has grown, over more than forty years, to serve customers right across the Boston, MA area. The shop opened in 1978 with a simple promise: quality work at an affordable rate.
Founder Gregory Chobanian still holds to it. Every garment is measured, chalked, cut and finished in-house — no work is sent out, and nothing leaves the shop until it hangs correctly on the person it was made for.
Gregory’s Fine Tailoring ensures satisfaction for every customer. Perfect-fitting clothes and honest service remain the whole of the business.
How the Shop Grew
Gregory Chobanian opens a small tailoring shop in Boston, offering alterations and repairs at rates working people could afford.
Word of mouth carries the shop beyond the neighbourhood. Suit work and formal alterations become the backbone of the business.
Custom shirting is added in-house — designing and resizing fitted shirts, a service few Boston tailors offer at all.
Over 40 years on, the shop serves clients from Boston to Concord with custom tailoring, bridal work, specialist leather and fur alterations, and same-day service.
What a Fitting Looks Like
Consultation
Bring the garment and the shoes you will wear with it. We talk through the fit you want and what the cloth will allow.
Measurement
Measured and pinned on you, not guessed from a size label. Every mark is made against your actual posture and shape.
Cut & Finish
The work is done in-house by hand. Seams, linings and finishing are matched to the original construction.
Final Fitting
You try it on before you leave. If anything is off by a quarter inch, it goes back on the bench.
